According to Bergmann’s Rule, \u201cAnimals in cold regions tend to have larger bodies, which reduces the surface area-to-volume ratio and helps retain heat better.\u201d When looking at polar bears, we can see that adult males weigh between 400-600 kg, sometimes even exceeding 800 kg, and measure about 2.4 to 2.6 meters in length. Similarly, female polar bears are about half the size of males, weighing 200-300 kg and measuring around 1.9 to 2.1 meters. Thanks to their large bodies, they retain heat effectively, allowing them to survive extreme temperatures as low as -40\u00b0C.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
