Imagine you are riding a bike very fast and suddenly you press the brake. You will be thrown forward, right? Just like that, our Earth spins very fast, nearly 1,700 km\/h at the equator! When the Earth suddenly stops spinning, everything on the surface will continue to “slide” in the original direction of rotation. Imagine you are playing on a super-speed slide. This will create super strong winds, like giant storms that can sweep away everything in its path. You can imagine standing in front of an extremely giant fan, the wind blowing so hard that your hair flutters. Not only the wind, the oceans will also “slide” along, creating giant tsunamis, enough to submerge a large city, even an entire country. And not only the ocean and the wind, buildings, trees, and vehicles will also be thrown into the air. The baby will see flying cars like in a sci-fi cartoon where superheroes fight with their enemies. After the Earth stops rotating for 1 second, it will start rotating again.
